Honorary Governor of the National Bank of Belgium Joins Byblos Bank

Veteran Belgian economist, Baron Guy Quaden, has been recently elected as a member of the Board of Directors of both Byblos Bank and Byblos Bank Europe.

Quaden is a household name in the banking arena with a long-standing and quite remarkable career. Between 1999 and 2011, he served as Governor at the National Bank of Belgium, and as such a member of the Governing and General Councils of the European Central Bank. Since 2011, he is serving as Honorary Governor of the Central Bank of Belgium. Another key position he has been assuming since 2003 is being the President of the King Baudouin Foundation. A holder of a PhD in economics from the Université de Liège, Quaden has issued several economic publications and articles and has, in addition to the Baron title, several Belgian and French distinctions.
